Meraki Dashboard API (v1)

SecHard Cisco Meraki integration can be evaluated in 3 stages.

Cisco Meraki side configuration:

API Access permission must be granted under Organization in Meraki Dashboard. Saved changes may take a few minutes to take effect. Then, from the user profile, under API Access, an API key should be created to define to SecHard with 'Generate new API key'.

SecHard side configuration:

Access cloud settings via Settings → System Integrations → CLD from the left menu. Enter the API key in the 'Cisco Meraki' tab. Validate the key with Validate. If the validation is successful, SecHard will list the organizations associated with the key under the key input field. Select the organization to use in Meraki API queries. Save the settings.

SecHard - Discovery results

Discovery methods are listed with Resource → Discovery → Methods from the left menu. In the upper left action buttons of the table, the cloud discovery method for Cisco Meraki integration is defined to the system with the 'Import from cloud' method.

In the discovery method, the Cisco Meraki integration defined in the system is selected from the 'Integration' options. After saving and creating the discovery method, scanning can be started.

Scan Level determines the scan level. API calls made in the scan, in order:

  1. Organization network discovery

  2. Organization resource discovery

  3. (Scan level: DETAILED) Organization switch source ports

Data received about the sources to SecHard:

  • Type, Mac Address, Serial Number, Model, Firmware

  • Tags, Notes, Location (LAT/LNG)

  • (Scan Level: DETAILED) Switch Ports

Resources discovered after scanning can be viewed in Resource → Discovery → Results.
